Minority Corporate Counsel Association Launches Global TEC Forum

The new program will replace the annual CLE Expo and provide the latest innovations in technology, education and careers in the legal profession.

Washington, D.C. – The Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA announced the launch of the Global TEC (Technology, Education and Careers) Forum: Empowering change in Technology, Education and Careers.

“Across all areas of our society today we see the impact of technology. Even a walk in the park today can be monitored by an app. The legal profession is, without a doubt, at the center of technology’s growing influence on our lives. From privacy concerns to intellectual property rights, the speed of innovation requires our profession remain current,” said Jean Lee, MCCA President and CEO. “In our drive to promote diversity within the legal offices of corporate America it is imperative that we provide the educational and career enhancement forum that will keep our members current and competitive.”

The Forum will take place later this year in New Orleans, October 6th and 7th. Along with the CLE tracks both days, the Forum will provide an opportunity for MCCA members, corporate legal departments and law firms, to network and attend trainings to advance their careers. There will be two trainings: one for law firm and other for in-house lawyers. The law firm training will focus on helping law firm associates become partners and young partners become rainmakers. The in-house training will focus on how to promote diverse attorneys to the top jobs within Fortune 1000 and large private companies.

“Under Jean’s leadership, we have kicked off a new and exciting era at MCCA. The Global TEC Forum is just one of the ways that we will be aggressively and creatively pursuing our mission of driving diversity within corporate legal departments,” said Michelle Banks, MCCA Board Chair. “With the proper tools in hand, our members can continue to build the pipeline of diverse legal professionals currently needed across the highest levels of corporate legal departments and law firms.”

Details on registration and sponsorship will be live on MCCA website on May 1.
