Don't Ask, Don't Tell Repealed

Troops who were discharged under the controversial ban are being encouraged by the Defense Department to reenlist.

The Defense Department also stated it will have no tolerance for anti-gay behavior.

The Army’s statement is typical in its brevity and directness: “The law is repealed.”

Others had a more jovial tone to their announcements. A new publication called “OutServe Magazine” focuses on the stories of gay and lesbian service members. The publication was swamped with gay service members submitting pictures for the latest issue - so much so that they could not publish all that were submitted. It will be available for free at about a dozen Army and Air Force bases.
